Mini Head to Heart

In this 6-week course, let God’s Word sink deeper into your heart for the transformation of the mind as well as to experience the love, joy, and peace the Spirit gives. We will address 3 challenges of CCCs (Cantonese Chinese Christians):

1) Performance-based Christianity which is a joyless Christianity,
2) A false picture of ourselves based on honor and shame,
3) And, the inability to accept a “no-strings-attached” gift of salvation.

As Cantonese-Chinese Christians, our cultural background often instills a strong performance-driven mindset in us. However, when this mindset is misapplied in our spiritual life, it can lead to frustration, confusion, and a lack of joy and peace, which is not in line with God’s desire for us. God wants us to experience love, joy, and peace, regardless of our circumstances, and this course is designed to help us align our mindset with His desire.

The Mini-Head to Heart course addresses the problem of performance mindset from three perspectives or anomalies: distorted identity in the Trinity, our improper view of honor and shame, and misguided reciprocity. Through six-classes and 27 meditation sessions, we will learn and appreciate our place in the Trinitarian family, a different but encouraging paradigm of honor and shame, and a proper reciprocating relationship with God and others to restore joy and peace in our Christian walk.
