+ Is God angry with unbelievers?

Question: On p. 67: “Yet in the New Testament not once does it use the words “anger” or “angry” for God’s or Christ’s attitude towards believers.” Is there somewhere in the New Testament that says the opposite about unbelievers?

If you do a concordance survey on the New Testament you will see that anger and wrath remains for those who refuse the Gospel:

  • He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (Jn. 3:36 NAS)

  • and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb" (Rev 6:16 NAS)

  • For it is on account of these things that the wrath of God will come, and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. (Col. 3:6-7 NAS)

  • for the great day of their wrath has come; and who is able to stand? (Rev. 6:16-17 NAS)
